Mainpower NZ Ltd
Mainpower New Zealand Limited is an electricity distribution company, based in Rangiora, New Zealand, responsible for electricity distribution to over 37,000 customers in the Canterbury Region north of the Waimakariri River. They are the North Canterbury energy division of Wesfarmers.
Mainpower has initiated a number of local generation projects, including the Mount Cass Wind Farm (proposed) and Cleardale Hydro Power Station (operating).
Mainpower has 66kV transmission lines for the North Canterbury and Kaikoura bulk supplies, 33kV subtransmission lines, and 22kV, 11kV and 6.6kV distribution lines, high voltage assets and substations on their network.
The MainPower Trust owns the ordinary shares in MainPower New Zealand Limited on the terms set out in our Trust Deed. The seven Trustees of the Trust hold the shares on behalf of qualifying customers of MainPower who live in the Mainpower District.
